Aakash, the world’s cheapest Tablet PC, has been launched finally. It is expected that the price may come down when its bulk production starts. Initially, a hundred thousand pieces are planned to be distributed among the students in 416 Universities and 20,000 colleges at a subsidized rate of Rs. 1,300 ($28.99).

It will be available for purchase in markets till November 20, 2011 at a price of Rs.2,999 ($66.88). Even though it’s very cheap, this Tablet PC have the standard feature for a Tablet PC. Aakash support Wi-Fi, stereo earphone and microphone. Aakash use Processor 366 Mhz. connextant with Graphics Accelerator, RAM Memory 256 MB, internal memory 2 GB, and Micro SD slot for extra storage up to 3 GB. 12 month guarantee also offered with external memory up to 32 GB and USB port to support external storage. On the display from this tablet, we have 7 inch touch screen monitor which have protector and resolution 800 x 480, all the system from this tablet is using Android 2.2 operating system.
