Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 4.2 Android Media Player

Samsung introduces its new Galaxy S WiFi 4.2, an Android media player intended to deliver powerful gaming on the go, joining the Galaxy S WiFi 3.6, 4.0 and 5.0 players. The new 4.2-inch PMP is powered by a 1GHz processor with 512MB of RAM. It features the SoundAlive audio system for enhanced gaming experience. It comes pre-loaded with Need For Speed Hot Pursuit game.

The Galaxy S WiFi 4.2 sports a 4.2-inch 480×800 IPS LCD touchscreen, a 2 Megapixel main camera, a VGA front camera for video call, support for Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity, and a microSD card slot for expansion. The player comes in 8GB or 16GB models. It runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and is loaded with TouchWiz UI, Samsung Hub, ChatON app.

The Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 4.2 comes in white.

LG Optimus Vu Smartphone gets a 5-inch 4:3 Touchscreen

If you look at LG’s line-up for the MWC 2012, each phone has its own selling point, 3D, NFC, and quad-core. What LG’s Optimus Vu is selling is probably its large 5-inch display that comes in 4:3 aspect ratio, unlike most touchscreen smartphones. The 4:3 5-inch display offers a tablet-like viewing, making makes viewing documents, books, internet and multimedia contents easier and more comfortable. The screen is based on IPS LCD and has 1024×768 resolution.

The Optimus Vu is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz processor with 1GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB internal memory. Measuring just 8.5mm thin, the Vu is probably the slimmest LTE phone on the market. It features a 8 Megapixel camera with LED flash, a 1.3 Megapixel front camera, DLNA support, Bluetooth, GPS and WiFi. The 5-inch handset includes built-in QuickClip hotkey that allows users to conveniently capture screenshots and memos with a single push, and it comes with a Rubberdium pen.

The LG Optimus Vu will be launched in Korea in March. It will be shipped with Android 2.3 with future upgrade to Android 4.0 ICS.

AT&T releases the HTC Vivid, one of the first AT&T 4G LTE-capable Android smartphone. Powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, the Vivid 4G comes with 1GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. It comes with a 4.5-inch large qHD 540×960 touchscreen, a 8 Megapixel camera with auto focus, dual LED flash, f/2.2, 28mm lens; a 1.3 Megapixel front-facing camera for video chat.

Apple iPhone 4S Announced

Apple announced its latest iPhone, the iPhone 4S that has the same design as the iPhone 4. The new model sports a dual-core A5 processor and dual-core graphics chip, which, according to Apple, offers twice the processing power and up to seven times faster graphics than iPhone 4. The display remains the same, featuring a 3.5-inch 960×640 326ppi Retina Display. It gets a new 8 Megapixel camera with F/2.4 aperture, advanced hybrid IR filter that produce sharper, brighter and more accurate image and Full HD 1080p video recording.

The iPhone 4S runs the latest iOS 5 that offers iCloud, iMessage, Notification Center, built-in Twitter integration, and more. The iPhone 4S comes in either black or white and will be available in the US for $199 for the 16GB model and $299 for the 32GB model and $399 for the new 64GB model, with contract. It will be available from the Apple Online Store, Apple’s retail stores and through AT&T, Sprint, Verizon Wireless. Apple will also release 8GB iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS will still be available.
